Basketball legend Kobe Bryant has decided to retire, and if you want to see his last game, you should be prepared to pay a significant amount. Even though the game is still four months away, ticket prices have already skyrocketed since his announcement. Within 14 hours of Bryant’s retirement news, ticket prices for his final game nearly tripled, soaring to an average of $1,388.60, according to TiqIQ, a ticket price tracking service.
Before Bryant made his announcement on Sunday evening, tickets were already averaging about $478, largely due to speculation that this season might be his last. As of now, the cheapest ticket for his April 13 game against the Utah Jazz is listed at $552. On the other end of the spectrum, the most expensive seat, located right behind the Lakers’ bench, is going for a staggering $11,700.
