The hotel chain has found software issues that suggest hackers might have accessed customers’ credit card details and other information. They have advised their customers to check their credit card statements, but they haven’t confirmed if any data was actually stolen. Stephanie Sheppard, the spokesperson for Hyatt, mentioned in an email that the malware was detected on November 30. However, she didn’t explain why the company took three weeks to announce this discovery, which was made public on Wednesday. Hyatt is one of the several major hotel chains this year to admit that their systems had been breached by hackers. The Chicago-based company owns, operates, or franchises a total of 627 properties across 52 nations.
