Chieh Huang, the CEO of Boxed—an online store much like Costco—has made a commitment to cover the college education costs for his employees’ children. While Boxed leverages technology in its services, Huang emphasized that the real credit goes to their hardworking warehouse staff who handle the picking, packing, and shipping of orders.
Huang showed his gratitude for the employees by acknowledging how essential they are to the company’s daily operations. He said he wouldn’t be successful without them, and this initiative to support their kids’ education is his way of giving back.
When Huang announced this plan a few months ago, it evoked strong emotions among the staff, leading to tears in the room, including his own.
